I was looking at MSNBC this morning and they were discussing the pediatric cases of monkey pox. Dr. Fauci said it was possibly transmitted to the children from a bisexual male. “The global monkeypox outbreak is primarily being driven by sex between men, according to the first major peer-reviewed paper to analyze a large set of cases of the virus.” according to www.nbcnews.com. This same article stated, “the strong likelihood of sexual transmission was supported by findings or primary genital, anal, and oral mucosal lesion, which may represent the inoculation site, the study author wrote.” The same article from NBC News also stated “95% of the cases were likely transmitted through sexual contact”.
My thoughts:
With that being said, we are adults and it is our responsibility to protect our children and those we love. Anytime we are involved in risky behaviors; such as unprotected sex, we put other people at risk of contracting a life altering disease. Our sexual preference is our choice; but with so many life changing disease through physical contact, the people we’re involving in our choices should be allowed to make a choice as well.
